Connecting Collections in Art and Design Education (CCADE) are currently trying to map all Higher Education Institutions that teach Art and Design histories and practices AND have museum collections / special collections. Polly Christie, who works at The Glasgow School of Art, has been collaborating with Judy Willcocks, at Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London), to bring together colleagues who look after collections. They recognise the particular opportunities that the collections have in the Art and Design context, through object-based learning, amongst other things. They have established themselves under the banner of CCADE (Connecting Collections in Art and Design Education). CCADE presented at the recent ELIA (European League of Institutes of Art) conference in Oslo and are now planning further meetings.
